Q: Where are you located?
A: Our studio and office are located at 1820 29th Street in Midtown Sacramento.
Q: What are your store hours?
A: We currently operate by appointment only. Contact us to schedule a consultation or cake pick up.
Q: How do I place an order?
A: Orders can be placed by phone or email. Our phone number is (916) 453-1981, and our email address is info@thefrostedcakeshop.com.
Q: What will my cake look like?
A: Every cake is unique and custom designed. Bring us your color palette, party invitation, or celebration theme and we can make a cake that is the centerpiece of your event. We can do everything from traditional tiered cake to one-of-a-kind carved designs. Take a look at our gallery or Flickr feed for inspiration.
Q: Can I just come in and buy a cake?
A: Unfortunately, no. All of our cakes are custom and made-to-order, so we do not have any ready-made cakes for sale.
Q: Do you ship your cakes?
A: At this time we do not ship our cakes.
Q: Do you offer cake tastings?
A: Yes we do. Cake tastings are available for large wedding and celebration cakes only. Please allow at least 72 hours notice. Contact us for more information.
Q: How far in advance should I place my order?
A: Orders should be placed as early as possible to secure to date for your event. We recommend contacting us at least 3 weeks in advanced. All cake are made-to-order. Please allow at least 72 hours notice so we can source the freshest possible ingredients for your order.
Q: Are your cakes and fillings made from scratch?
A: Absolutely! We are proud to use the highest quality ingredients for all of our signature recipes.
Q: How fresh is my cake?
A: Extremely! All cakes are made-to-order.
Q: How should I store my cake?
A: Cakes filled or frosted with cream cheese frosting or whipped cream should be refrigerated until serves. Fudge, buttercream, and fondant covered cake should be kept in a cool, dry place. If not being served the same day as pick up, all cakes should be refrigerated, in their box. All leftover pieces should be refrigerated.
Q: Do you make cupcakes?
A: Our speciality is full-sized cakes, but we understand that sometimes cupcakes are just right for your event. Contact us for more information.
Q: What is rolled fondant icing?
A: Fondant is a pliable sugar dough that can be molded to create edible decorations or rolled over a cake to create a smooth finish. It ca be dyed from bright colors to a light tint to match your event colors, invitations, etc. When fondant is rolled on a cake as icing, it can keep the cake moist and fresh longer. Chocolate fondant is also available upon request.
Q: What is gumpaste?
A: Gumpaste, also known as sugar paste, is used for making edible decorations. It is very versatile and strong. It can be used to create delicate and intricate shapes. We us gumpaste for our flowers, bows, ribbons, figures, etc.
Q: Do you have cake stands or display pieces for rent? Do you make dessert bars?
A: We do offer individual treats for dessert bars. For our larger celebrations, clients have the option to rent display items. We enjoy dessert styling, so please contact us to discuss ideas.
